Mr Carney, Mrs Parsons and the senior room had a very informative day in Strokestown Park recently. We visitied the new museum there which tells the story of the landlord and his family, the tenants and community during the difficult time of the Irish Famine. A guided tour of Strokestown House followed which is maintained as it was when the family left in 1980. Everyone enjoyed the nice day in the woodland walk after lunch and made sure to make a wish at the 'Wishing Tree'. It was a really memorable day and a great way to learn about our national history.
