As I’m sure many of you are aware Mr. Coleman a retired teacher has been coming to the school teaching the boys and girls from 3rd to 6th how to play chess over the last few months. NCM is non competitive and the focus is on learning, fun and participation. During the winter last year there were many days when pupils didn’t get to go outside at break and this was a great way for the pupils to spend their time indoors. This year we have arranged to visit Kilcroan N.S. at the end of November to play with the pupils there whom Mr. Coleman has also been teaching.
